Splash!

Well, Thursday was a good day. Thursday morning, I finished applying a royal blue bootstripe to the Pretty Gee and that afternoon, Arion and I put her back in the water. She is back in her slip and awaiting a chance to do some more sailing. Saturday, Dave and I finished rigging the boat, raised the mast and bent the sails on. We took her for a short evening sail. My hats off to the Moby Dick Marina crew for all their help and good work.

There are a few issues that need to be addressed still, but these are probably ones I can deal with easily enough with the boat in the water. The first is the wind instruments need to have the contacts at various points cleaned. The second is the VHF looks like it needs a new antenna coax cable run inside the cabin. Finally, I need to fix a point on the rudder which is catching when it swings and tighten up on the rudder downhaul line.

The evening sail on Saturday went really well, and she seems to be very happy to be back in the water. The new water line is just about perfect. Now, this week, I just have to re-stow all the gear and equipment I took off the boat during the earlier part of the season.

Time to go sailing….
