Small World

Posted on Monday 6 November 2006

As many of my blog readers also read Tillerman’s Proper Course blog, I thought I’d share an interesting discovery.  I am indirectly connected to him, and his family. I just got a comment, as did he, from his daughter-in-law, Anne. Anne just realized that I am Debbi’s little brother.

Debbi and Kathy, Anne’s older sister, are best friends, and have been since their college days. Kathy was the maid of honor at my sister’s wedding.

So, this means that there are only five degrees of separation from me to Tillerman, out in the real world: Me to my sister, Debbi; Debbi to Kathy; Kathy to Anne; Anne to her husband; and finally Anne’s husband to Tillerman.

It is amazing how small the real world can be at times. Since I consider Kathy and her husband Tim family, I guess I should say, “Tillerman, welcome to the family.”

BTW, Tillerman met Tillerwoman, Anne’s mother-in-law, 35 years ago today.  My only question, why did it take you so long to ask her to marry you?

Welcome to the family indeed. Yeah – my wife sometimes asks me why it took me so long (364 days) too.
