I signed up for NaNoWriMo today. For those of you who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it is the National Novel Writing Month event that takes every November. My friend, Brian Howe, challenged me to participate this year. I intend on using it as a incubator for the book I am writing about My Life With Gee, “No Greater Love”. He also challenged our friend Brad to participate, but Brad has yet to sign up for it as far as I know.
Correction: Brad has signed up… and I’m hoping that Sarah will sign up for NaNoWriMo as well.
That is an incredibly good idea. I should do the same. I wonder whether it will motivate me enough? Only one way to find out!
Sarah-
Yes, you should definitely do nanowrimo. If you decide to, let me know, I’ll add you to my writing buddy list.
Brad and Brian are both doing it…and I’d be psyched if you would too.
This will be my third year doing NaNo, and I’m looking forward to it. Last year, I actually ended up with a passable short novel at the end of it, a nice, tidy police procedural titled Murder at the Community College. This year, the same main characters will be solving Murder at the Yacht Club.
“Oh, my,” I hear some of you saying. “I wonder where she might possibly be getting her story ideas.”
As long as Pat and Zorro and the rest of the cast from Desert Sea keep showing up on Pat’s blog, I won’t worry about who you murdered, or where.
Besides, what’s a little murder among friends. If you need help with bodies on this coast, let me know.
Oh, I could never kill off Zorro, although at times Pat gets dangerously close to getting added to the body count.
Meanwhile, I’ve added you to my list of Writing Buddies.
