Happy Holidays 2005

Posted on Sunday 25 December 2005

The holidays are here again. I wanted to wish my readers a Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. This year has been a year of changes.

I finally moved back to New England after selling the house. Brad and Cindy have moved into a new apartment as well. My sister-in-law got married. Yay! Woo Kyung and Hunter got engaged—wedding to be in March 2006. Megan moved into a new condo. Brian and Katy have been busy renovating their house. Jesse and Rox are renovating their house too. One of my favorite uncles died, and my aunt has moved from Pittsburgh. It’s strange to think that I don’t have any relatives in Pennsylvania…as they have lived there forever. Sarah took sailing lessons down in the Caribbean.

I finally ordered the Pretty Gee. The builder has told me she’ll be ready in mid-February. I’m still getting the details all finalized. I’m pretty excited about this. She’ll be berthed in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, on the Acushnet River. Dave and Melissa live about 10 minutes from the marina, and are looking forward to learning how to sail. Brad and Cindy are also looking to learn. At least, I’ll have one crew member who knows what she’s doing, as my friend Nannette has volunteered to crew for me.

I’d also like to remember my uncle, Dong Sik Kim, my wife, Gee, and my twin, David, today.

Merry Christmas, Dan. It’s been a long time… mostly because the folks over at SM forgot that you don’t put up the site before it actually works. Oops.

Anyway, it sounds like you, too, have had a year filled with transition. It’s been a busy year for me too… the baby is nearly 10 months, I sold my house, and I’m about 5 weeks away from moving to Australia.

Besides my daughter, most of the year was pretty rough. But I’m looking forward to leaving it behind (kind of an unusual phrase, if you think about it.)

If I don’t “see” you, have a peaceful New Year’s.
