Imitation as Flattery

Apple’s iPod shuffle and LuxPro’s Super ShuffleSome people say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. I guess the iPod shuffle must be a truly great idea. A Taiwanese company, Luxpro, has come out with an iPod shuffle clone that plays WMA and MP3 files. It has an almost identical form and size as the iPod shuffle, but adds voice recording and an FM tuner to the unit. The name of the iPod shuffle clone, Super Shuffle… very original.

This is a photo of the iPod shuffle (left) and the Super Shuffle. The main differences are on the back, where the Super Shuffle has an additional switch for the FM radio and voice recordng functions.

Call me a cynic, but I see a lawsuit in Luxpro’s future.
